Our Mission: Increasing access to world-class psychiatric care
Sage Psychiatric Professionals was founded with two goals in mind: providing world-class psychiatric care and making that care genuinely reachable for the people who need it. Quality psychiatric care should not depend on where you live, what insurance you carry, or how long you are willing to wait. Yet more than half of psychiatric practices today have stopped accepting insurance altogether. We built Sage to do the opposite. We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offer competitive self-pay and sliding scale rates for those who prefer care outside of insurance. We provide expert psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults, and families across Georgia through a telehealth-first model, so patients in every corner of the state can reach a quality psychiatrist or child psychiatrist without driving hours or waiting months, with in-person appointments available when clinically appropriate.

Dr. Bhargav Patel
Dr. Bhargav Patel is a nationally renowned psychiatrist, published author, and physician-leader committed to transforming the way psychiatric care is delivered.
Educated and trained at top institutions, including Vanderbilt University, the Medical College of Georgia, and Brown University, Dr. Patel brings exceptional clinical expertise in both adult and child psychiatry. His academic work includes multiple books, peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and nationally presented research. He has also received national recognition for his clinical, academic, and leadership accomplishments.
Dr. Patel founded Sage Psychiatric Professionals with a clear mission: to make world-class psychiatric care accessible to individuals and families throughout Georgia. Sage combines the personal attention and compassion of a private practice with the reach, technology, and clinical standards of a modern healthcare organization. Through telepsychiatry, comprehensive insurance participation, thoughtful physician oversight, and ongoing provider education, Dr. Patel and the Sage team strive to ensure that every patient receives knowledgeable, compassionate, and evidence-based care—regardless of where they live or the barriers they may face.
